POSITION:  Business Development Specialist

Burns & Levinson LLP, a mid-sized law firm in downtown Boston, is seeking a talented Business Development Specialist to focus on business generation, development plans, strategies and execution tactics for the firm’s Cannabis, Life Sciences and Business Media Groups.

The Business Development Specialist is responsible for the execution of the business and strategic goals of the firm's industry groups. Additional responsibilities include sales support to the attorneys, developing and managing networking events, other lead generation activities for attorneys, and coordinating the follow-up efforts to help generate new clients and expand relationships with current clients. The Business Development Specialist will also assist the marketing team on development of additional industry teams, CRM, communications and additional marketing pieces as needed. This position will report to the Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer.

Required Skills and Experience :

Successful candidates will have seven (7) plus years of experience in business development, sales, marketing or client services/relations in law or related professional services industries. Strong understanding of legal industry and the client development model and sales cycle. Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills as well as strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Required Education:

Bachelors’ Degree with major in Business, Communications, Marketing or related fields preferred. Experience working in the Cannabis, Life Sciences or Business Media markets preferred.
