David Burkhardt, Client Service Director
Wyrick Robbins Yates & Ponton LLP
David Burkhardt is the Client Service Director for Wyrick, Robbins, Yates & Ponton, a 100 attorney, corporate transactional law firm in the fast growing region of Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. He primarily serves as a client advocate within the firm to ensure the client's voice is always heard.
As a liaison to the Executive Committee, his responsibilities also include lead generation and new client conversion, cross-practice group promotion, client satisfaction measurement, attorney mentoring, as well as managing the marketing and communications team. With a diverse client base ranging from entrepreneurial start-ups to large, public companies, the role of the Client Service Director at Wyrick Robbins is wide-ranging and requires an innovative, multi-disciplinary skill set.
David helps coordinate the firm’s strategic partnerships with local thought leaders and community organizations which can facilitate economic growth for the firm’s clients and enhance the firm’s entrepreneurial and social impact. In addition to serving as an Ambassador for the Council for Entrepreneurial Development, David currently sits on the board of the Triangle Chapter of the Association of Corporate Growth and the National Advisory Board of the Legal Service and Sales Organization.
Prior to joining Wyrick Robbins, David enjoyed a diverse career with Chicago based RR Donnelley, a Fortune 250 printing and communications company, where he served in several customer service and leadership roles within the Global Capital Markets Group.
Mari-Anne Kehler, Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer

Mari-Anne Kehler leads Green Hasson Janks' strategy, business development and marketing. She has over 30 years of experience as a high-impact leader who successfully expands business through action by using core skills of teaming, coaching, strategy development, program execution, measurement and innovation. She has an integrated client-centric and industry approach with experience in professional services, finance, consumer business, entertainment and media.
Prior to joining Green Hasson Janks, Mari-Anne held sales, marketing and business development leadership roles at top organizations. She served as a national marketing leader for Deloitte Services LP where she held a number of positions on the Marketing and Business Development leadership team, including heading up National Tax marketing, and marketing/business development of the Pacific Southwest region. She was a highly rated trainer of senior-level talent at the globally renowned Deloitte University.
Before joining Deloitte, she led West Coast regional marketing efforts for a division of Nestle. She began her career on Wall Street at Morgan Stanley, and has also held director positions at Bertelsmann Entertainment and Grey Direct, overall gaining insights in various industries including finance, entertainment, media and consumer products.
Mari-Anne’s nonprofit work focuses on organizational problem solving, leadership coaching, capacity building, constituent development, communications and global and grass-roots advocacy.
Mari-Anne has been active in the community in the areas of disability awareness and fundraising and in mentoring families and professionals for almost two decades. Her particular specialty is creating successful transition strategies to optimize the special needs journey into adulthood. In addition to serving on numerous nonprofit boards supporting children, education and the special needs community, she is also a speaker at universities and conferences on the topic of disabilities: awareness, transition to adulthood and the impact on families. Mari-Anne has been a featured speaker at conferences on topics such as social media and marketing strategy.

Jon Mattson, Director of Business Development,
Baker & Hostetler, LLP – Cleveland, OH
BakerHostetler has over 940 lawyers across 14 offices in the US. As Director of Business Development, Jon is responsible for stimulating profitable revenue growth through the implementation of client development processes and the leadership of the business development team of 25 who enable and drive the business development efforts of 70 practice teams and seven industry sectors. Previously, Jon was Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer at a mid-sized law firm where he was responsible for revenue growth, new client generation, brand awareness, and instilling a culture of client service and business development throughout the firm. Before coming to law firms, Jon spent most of his career in Big Four accounting serving in a unique blend of roles including external business development to some of the firm’s largest clients, a geography marketing leadership role, and a client service/timekeeper role within a state and local tax practice. He received his BA in Economics from Eastern Illinois University and his MBA from Wake Forest University.
