The Process The Award application process is simple. Any law firm is invited to participate.
1. Interested firms should first complete the pre-application form and payment by 1/31/2008 to LSSO.
2. Participating firms will then submit the award application with their Organization Profile and Self-Assessment by 4/30/2008. The application should range from 10 to 25 pages and it can be integrated with charts, pictures and other media as deemed appropriate by the applicant.

3. Upon receipt of all applications, a panel of Judges evaluates and scores them.
4. Finalists in each group and level will then be scheduled for a site visit by a team of Examiners who will be responsible to validate the content of the application.
5. Based on its findings, the team prepares a feedback report that identifies the applicant’s strengths and opportunities for improvement.
6. A panel of Judges reviews the examiners’ work for integrity and completeness and makes the final determination.
• The Thomas H. Lee Award for Service Excellence in Law reserves the right to require multiple site visits to a single law firm during the examining process.
• The Thomas H. Lee Award for Service Excellence in Law may determine there is no qualified applicant in one or more categories, and therefore reserves the right to not distribute awards in a given year.
• The Thomas H. Lee Award for Service Excellence in Law reserves the right to reassign, after careful review, any application to a more appropriate award level.
